First impressions of "House of the Dragon": reviewers say the prequel is superior to "Game of Thrones"

 The dragons are here to dominate, the pilot assures us.


After the disappointing conclusion of the previous season, many were apprehensive when HBO Max revealed the prequel to Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon. HBO Max made the decision to host a media preview screening of the prequel's pilot episode with less than a month until its scheduled debut. The person's initial reviews seem really positive! It appears that the network and G.R.R. Martin have made an effort to smooth out the rough edges and produce something that is much more captivating than its predecessor.

George Martin's book Fire and Blood will be adapted, and it will recount the tale of the Targaryen civil war in Westeros, which took place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones. Along with Rhys Ifans, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel, Milly Alcock, and Emily Carey, it will feature Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Emma D'Arcy. HBO Max will debut the program on August 21.
